Borsalino’s Garden of Eden: A symphony of elegance and lightness

In the heart of Milan, during the Milano Fashion Week, amidst the bustling energy of the fashion world, Borsalino unveiled a mesmerizing Garden of Eden, an epitome of grace and beauty. The Spring-Summer 2024 collection, carefully crafted by Jacopo Politi, Borsalino’s Head of Style, epitomizes a boundless desire for lightness while placing nature at the very core of its artistic expression. This collection marks a new chapter for Borsalino that intertwines elegance and the essence of nature in an exclusive narrative. The Borsalino showroom in via della Spiga 30 Milan became a canvas of creativity, where the Garden of Eden came to life, captivating all who stepped into this realm of artistry.

Jacopo Politi, the visionary Head of Style at Borsalino, invites us into his personal Garden of Eden, a place of inspiration and passion, to unravel the stories woven into the Spring-Summer 2024 collection. It’s a journey that celebrates the myriad forms of nature, a dance of rarity and fluidity. From carefully selected materials to meticulous artistry, from delicate colour nuances to captivating accessories, every element in this collection articulates a sense of joy and elegance, tracing the ethereal notion of lightness.

The choice of materials adheres to Borsalino’s DNA and history, centring on handcrafted natural fibres. The iconic Panama hat takes centre stage, embracing new avatars – Total White versions with a Fine weave (the Medea) and Total Black with a glazed ‘wet effect’ finish (the Andrea). The collection also boasts styles in Braided Papier, waxed Papier, Parasisol forms, and Raffia, reigning supreme in its braided, fringed, stitched, or crochet variants, including the much-anticipated best-seller, the Ines beret. The materials for Spring-Summer 2024 embrace airiness and lightness, enriched by Borsalino artisans’ renowned craftsmanship, adorning the collection with geometric motifs, embroidered hat bands, and playful fringes.

The collection’s colour palette is an ode to light, featuring infinite shades of White, delicate pastel hues, and vibrant selections such as Hibiscus, Sunset, and Tiger Blue. The collection revels in decorative elements, playing with ribboned hat bands, crafted in classic grosgrain with select palettes of Emerald, Moon, Azalea, Turquoise, silk satin, and decorative trimmings in jacquard twine, degradè or fringed raffia, baguette rhinestones, and hand-embroidered sequins. Tassels, chains, and feathers dance joyously on the hats, transporting us to a carefree dimension.

A remarkable innovation comes in the form of removable earrings for the (Kris) model. Not to be overlooked is the incredibly light new summer felts, a burst of shocking colours, and a ‘ceremonial’ mini collection, perfect for those cherishing hats on the most special of Spring occasions. The Borsalino fabric collection takes a bow, presenting denim délavé, a feather-light summer tweed, Sangallo lace, and new ‘straw effect’ fibres. New design shapes make their debut, featuring the notable (Cardi) open-back baseball cap, the wide-brimmed (Miranda) and (Donna) cloches, the micro (Kori) and maxi (Yuri) bucket hats, the multi-pocket (Worker) bucket hats, the six-segment maxi visor (Sun) flat cap, and lastly, the (Kourtney) scarf visor.

Beyond hats, the Borsalino Soft Accessories Collection is a tribute to the sea, embodying a range of sarongs, caftans, shawls, Twillys for the hair, elastic bands for hats, and beach towels. The seasonal themes displayed in this collection celebrate the carefree nature of unforgettable summer moments. Borsalino is more than a fashion statement. It’s an artistic expedition into the heart of nature, a tribute to lightness and elegance, and a celebration of the sheer joy that lies within the realm of fashion.

Borsalino has indeed created a Garden of Eden that beckons all fashion enthusiasts to embrace the beauty and grace that life, fashion, and nature offer.
