The Grand Ball of Princes and Princesses Monte-Carlo arrives in Mallorca

The island of Mallorca will witness the opening of an entirely new chapter in the story of one of Europe’s most celebrated society events. The Grand Ball of Princes and Princesses Monte-Carlo, long synonymous with the glamour of the Principality, will make its first appearance on Spanish soil on 29 August 2026, bringing with it a distinctive blend of princely elegance, artistic excellence and European heritage that has made the event a fixture on the international calendar.

Held annually in Monaco under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the Grand Ball has, over the years, become far more than a single evening of celebration. It has grown into an institution inspired by the timeless allure of Monte-Carlo, the storied tradition of grand European balls, and the enduring image of Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, whose grace and refinement continue to define the spirit of the occasion. Conceived as a contemporary reimagining of the Belle Époque and the art of living so closely associated with the Principality, the Ball draws together an extraordinary constellation of guests from the worlds of culture, business, philanthropy, entertainment, fashion and international society. In recent years, its reach has extended well beyond Monaco’s borders, with special editions staged in some of the world’s most iconic destinations, among them Venice and Cannes during their respective film festivals, as well as Dubai, London and Capri. Now, Mallorca joins that illustrious list.

For its inaugural Spanish edition, the Grand Ball has chosen a setting of exceptional historical weight: the Castillo Son Vida, one of the island’s most distinguished landmarks and a name inseparable from Mallorca’s golden age of international glamour. The choice is far from arbitrary. When Son Vida opened its doors in June 1961, its inauguration drew more than five hundred of the era’s most prominent figures, among them Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly themselves, who arrived on the island in the company of Aristotle Onassis and Maria Callas.

That gathering has since passed into legend as one of the defining social moments of a period when Mallorca stood at the very centre of the international jet set. More than sixty years later, the same walls that once welcomed Monaco’s Prince and Princess will again become a meeting point between the Principality and the island, transforming a shared chapter of Mediterranean history into a living, contemporary celebration of culture, elegance and friendship.

The timing of this inaugural edition is itself significant. 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of Monaco’s diplomatic mission in Spain, first established in 1876, and the milestone is being marked throughout the year with a programme of events celebrating the long and warm relationship between the two nations, and the shared values of dialogue, cooperation and cultural exchange that have sustained it. Under the theme “A Mediterranean Dream in Royal Splendour,” the Mallorca edition will weave together the traditions of European princely heritage with the creativity, energy and cultural richness for which Spain is so admired.

Shaping this vision is Delia Grace Noble, founder and Artistic Director of Noble Monte-Carlo, whose creative direction places the Grand Ball at the crossroads of music, dance, haute couture, gastronomy, architecture and the performing arts. Her approach transforms each edition into a fully immersive experience, one in which the history and character of the host destination enter into dialogue with the heritage of Monte-Carlo itself. Guests were dazzled by the breathtaking gowns at the grand ball, designer creations by April Black Diamond, flown in straight from HollywoodEvery detail, from the setting and table design to the music, the costumes and the artistic performances, has been conceived to build an atmosphere defined by elegance, beauty and theatrical refinement. Throughout the evening, guests will delight in the distinguished Wines of Mon Collectionneur Bordeaux, the refined Champagne by Maison Caroline Dufour, and the culinary delicacies crafted by “The Lord of Truffles”. As the evening draws to a close, guests will be invited to continue the celebration at the exclusive “Monte-Carlo Royal” After Party, a more contemporary expression of the Monegasque art of living that will carry the spirit of the Ball late into the night through live music, artistic performances and an atmosphere of refined revelry.

Speaking of the Mallorca edition, Delia Grace Noble described it as the beginning of a new chapter: “We want Mallorca to become a bridge between Monaco and Spain, a meeting point where history inspires creativity, where heritage meets contemporary artistic expression, and where elegance becomes a language of friendship and international exchange.”

Indeed, what began in Monaco as a single glittering evening has evolved into something rather more ambitious: an international platform celebrating European heritage, artistic creation and the art of living, and a space in which people, cultures and traditions can meet through the universal language of elegance and culture. On 29 August, the historic walls of Castillo Son Vida will once again open to welcome an international gathering inspired by the glamour of another era. This event will carry the spirit of Monte-Carlo into a new Mediterranean setting, bringing history, art, fashion, gastronomy and the enduring splendour of Monaco into conversation with the unique soul of Mallorca. With its style and refinement, its storied past and the artistry lavished upon every detail, this inaugural Mallorca edition of the Grand Ball of Princes and Princesses Monte-Carlo will undoubtedly be simply magnificent. The After Party, named ‘Monte-Carlo Casino Royale’, will take place at the Casino Mallorca.

As the date approaches, prestigious guests from across Europe are already counting down the days, eager to gather once more beneath the historic walls of Son Vida for an evening that promises to be unforgettable.
