Luca Caricato and the World of Art

Life is made up of choices, which follow the passion sustained by courage. This allows dreams to come true. A graduate of Modern Literature, Professor Luca Caricato obtained two master’s degrees: the first was in Historical Artistic Studies of Protection and Enhancement of Cultural Heritage and the Environment at the LUMSA in Rome, and the second was in Madrid, a Máster Universitario en Formación del Profesorado at the Nebrija University.

The thesis is entitled “Leonardo da Vinci, un instrumento de aprendizaje”, and it proposes the historical figure of Leonardo da Vinci as a valid learning tool. In 2003, he moved to Paris to attend the Faculty of History and Art History of the Sorbonne University in Paris. Here he began a research path that would lead him to develop a thesis on Leonardo da Vinci’s esoteric code, recognised as a sensational international discovery.

As a teacher and expert in Social Communication, he created and kept creating documentaries, commercials, short films, videoclips, cartoons, etc. In 2007, he published a monograph on Leonardo da Vinci: “Scibile Invisibile Proibito”, which is the result of a reinterpretation of his thesis. La Gioconda, Il Cenacolo, La Vergine delle Rocce and also other works by great artists such as Caravaggio hide another work in work: the invisible in the visible.

In the 2015-2016 academic year, he became a professor of the Laboratory of Cinematography and Film Criticism at the University of Basilicata. Professor Caricato has always been a guest of important television broadcasts, including Enigma and Mattino Cinque, where his discussion with Vittorio Sgarbi and Cecchi Paone became memorable. Furthermore, he talked about his discoveries at TG Leonardo.

Since 2016, he has been living in Milan to deepen his research on Leonardo da Vinci. In 2017, at the Auditorium of the Lombardy Region, as part of the international prize “Gift of Humanity”, he received the International Art Award.

A great critic and art historian, he has also been a speaker in several seminars. Among the most important ones was held on March 14, 2019, at the University of Sapienza in Rome.

The topic, of course, was to discuss Leonardo da Vinci, along with the renowned art historian Claudio Strinati, who recognises, without any doubt, the theories of Professor Caricato. He collaborated with the Department of Education of the Municipality of Milan and with the Italian Air Force.

Thanks to his field experience, decades of research, and sharp critical insight, historians and art scholars alike consider Professor Luca Caricato a figure who will continue to spark debate and discovery for years to come. Today, he stands as a recognised expert in contemporary art and art investment, carrying forward the same passion and courage that have defined his path from the very beginning.
