Madrid welcomes the new Dior Boutique

Madrid Welcomes the New Dior Boutique: A Showcase of Elegance and Style. Madrid’s luxury fashion scene has been brightened up with the opening of a new Dior boutique in Galería Canalejas. Located in the heart of Spain’s capital, the new store has become the largest Dior boutique in Madrid and the two other stores, Dior Madrid Ortega and Dior Madrid ECI Castellana.

The new Dior boutique is designed with elegance and class. The interior is carried out in light beige tones, and some walls are decorated with Maison’s signature roses. Covering an area of over 500 square meters, the store occupies two floors, showcasing Maison’s latest pret-à-porter collection for the Spring-Summer 2023 season, both male and female, as well as iconic accessories and brand-new creations.

The ready-to-wear 2023 collection is designed by Dior’s Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, an Italian fashion designer who has previously worked with Fendi and Valentino. Maria Grazia Chiuri has also worked on Dior spring-summer 2023 haute couture collection, inspired by the singer and dancer Joséphine Baker, who conquered Paris stage in the 1920s with her charisma and talent. The haute couture collection features a range of coats made of light velvet, some with a crumpled and dynamic texture, while others are quilted, complemented with delicate embroidery.

Maria Grazia Chiuri’s pret-à-porter collection was guided by Catherine de Medici and embodies hypnotic and sovereign elegance, combining the stylistic features of the Court, such as corsets or crinolines, with sportswear details, reinventing trench coats with baroque volumes. The collection showcases the virtuosity of needlework, with various embroidery techniques and crochet being used on raw, almost organic materials such as raffia to add a contemporary couture touch to the looks. These unique creations of royal calibre are presented on the first floor of the Galería Canalejas Dior boutique.

The store’s second floor is dedicated to the Dior’s men’s Summer 2023 line designed by Kim Jones, an English designer, the Creative Director of Dior Homme and the Artistic Director of Fendi, a position which he took over from Karl Lagerfeld. The men’s Summer 2023 collection takes us on an enthralling journey through the ages, transporting us from Paris to Granville and Charleston. The collection features daring silhouettes that seamlessly blend the sophistication of tailoring with the versatility of outdoor wear, resulting in an alluring fusion of tradition, innovation, and daring exploration.

Other sections of the boutique are dedicated to Maison’s signature pieces, including the Saddlebags, which made their first appearance in 1999, dreamt up by Dior’s former Artistic Director John Galliano. The bag has become a classic, favoured especially by Paris Hilton in the 2000s, and its popularity has risen again a few years ago as Dior brought the piece back a multitude of colours and designs. Dior has expanded its presence in the Spanish capital beyond the latest store opening in Galería Canalejas. Earlier this year, the luxury brand opened a new store on the first floor of the El Corte Inglés department store in Castellana. Additionally, Dior has two boutiques in Barcelona, located on the El Corte Inglés and Passeig de Gracia.

The location of the newest Dior boutique is worth dwelling on. The store is situated in Galería Canalejas, Madrid’s iconic destination for luxury shopping and fine dining. It is a part of one of the city’s most historically significant collections of buildings. The Galería’s contemporary design merges with the seven monumental buildings’ rich history, creating a truly one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The Dior boutique is in good company there, sharing the space with Hermès, Cartier, Rolex, and Saint Laurent. A visit to the Dior store will undoubtedly offer an unforgettable experience.
