In the majestic setting of the Corsie Sistine, within the historic Complex of Santo Spirito in Sassia, the fifth edition of Roma Jewelry Week (RJW2025) concluded with resounding success. Curated by Architect Monica Cecchini, the event once again transformed the Eternal City into an international stage for excellence, creativity, and cultural dialogue in jewelry design. The 2025 theme, Gaudium (Latin for “joy”), invited artists and designers to explore this concept through a spiritual, philosophical, and social approach. With over 25 countries represented, the week became a global conversation between tradition and experimentation, a journey through techniques, cultures, and aesthetic philosophies. At the heart of Roma Jewelry Week stood the Incinque Jewels Award, a symbol of excellence that recognizes innovation, research, and the artistic vision behind contemporary jewelry.
The Jury – An international jury of distinguished experts, including Laura Astrologo Porché, Alessio Boschi, Barbara Brocchi, Giò Carbone, Elisabetta Cipriani, Alessia Crivelli, Michele Forlenza, Emanuele Leonardi, Paolo Mangano, Matilde Pavone, Diego Percossi Papi, Bryna Pomp, Aldo Vitali, Giorgia Zoppolato, and Sally Xiong Bing, selected the winners from over a hundred participants worldwide.

Exhibitions
RJW’s exhibitions offered an extraordinary spectrum of artistic expression. Solo showcases by Ivan Barbato, François Santo, Alessio Boschi, Arata Fuchi, Rossella Ugolini, Youngsun Nam, Atelier Percossi Papi, and Alberto Zorzi traced a narrative of transformation: from devotion to innovation, from sacred symbolism to contemporary art.

Collective exhibitions from Officine Talenti Preziosi, Jewels for Freedom, Florence Jewellery Week, and Venice Design Week presented jewelry as a reflection of social engagement, cultural heritage, and experimentation. The section AUREA ROMA: Heritage and Contemporary bridged Rome’s historical goldsmithing legacy with present-day artistry. Masterpieces from the University and Noble College of Goldsmiths, Jewelers, and Silversmiths of Rome, led by Aldo Vitali, were exhibited alongside contemporary creations by Ansuini, Angeletti, Fanuele, Fonderia Lefevre, and numerous master goldsmiths and designers such as Riccardo Alfonsi with Elena Lo Presti, Italo Calvarese, Glauco Cambi, Antonio Fontana, Michele Forlenza, Le Sibille, Licciardello Gioielli, Paolo Mangano with Simona Della Bella, Cristiana Perali, and Luigina Rech.

A special tribute was dedicated to Arnaldo Pomodoro, with one of his jewelry creations exhibited in his honor. Furthermore, the Verdastro Watchmaking House also took part, creating several watches for Roma Jewelry Weekdesigned by Marco Fabio Verdastro and Monica Cecchini.

In the same section, the project Chanc(g)e by The Unique Magazine in collaboration with the Picasso School was exhibited. For the international section, works were showcased from China with Sally Xiong Bing, and from Thailand with the Decorative Arts Department of Silpakorn University and Khajornsak Nakpan.

Armenian National Pavilion
Roma Jewelry Week 2025 also marked a milestone for the Armenian Jewellers Association (AJA) chaired by Ivette Nersesyan-Stephanopoulos. Supported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian National Pavilion featured ten exceptional designers who presented their artistry to an international audience of professionals, collectors, and media representatives. Their works reflected Armenia’s profound jewelry heritage while embracing modern design perspectives, symbolizing a bridge between legacy and contemporary innovation. It reaffirmed AJA’s mission to connect Armenian talent with international markets and highlight the country’s potential in design, craftsmanship, and manufacturing. The Association expressed deep gratitude for the support and recognition received, emphasizing the importance of shining a continuous light on Armenian artistry and its extraordinary creators.

The 2025 edition featured a record number of exhibitors, with designers, schools, galleries, and institutions from every continent. Notable collaborations included Mani Intelligenti, Milano Fashion & Jewels, Federpreziosi Roma, Fonderia Lefevre, COIN, and Temple University, which hosted the third edition of the jewelry illustration contest curated by Shara Wasserman and Winsor & Newton. Academic partners such as IED Rome, Accademia Italiana, and Hard to Find School underscored RJW’s commitment to education and generational exchange.
Conferences of Roma Jewelry Week 2025
The Conferences of Roma Jewelry Week 2025, held at the Corsie Sistine of Santo Spirito in Sassia, brought together distinguished voices from the world of jewelry, uniting tradition, craftsmanship, and innovation in two days of dialogue and discovery. The event offered a platform for experts, designers, historians, and artists to explore the past, present, and future of jewelry, revealing its cultural, emotional, and artistic dimensions. The program opened on Saturday, October 25, 2025, with sessions moderated by Laura Astrologo Porché. The first lecture, by Giampaolo Della Croce, gemologist with a long career at Bvlgari, focused on “The Return of Color: Emotions and the History of Gemstones in Jewelry.” His talk traced the historical and emotional power of color in gem-setting, illustrating how precious stones carry both symbolic and sensory meaning through centuries of artistry. This was followed by a fascinating presentation by Fei Liu, the internationally acclaimed jewelry designer, who shared his journey “From Blue of Dreams to Bonhams.” Liu’s talk was a poetic narrative about sculptural form, gemstone artistry, and cultural storytelling, an invitation to perceive jewelry as a dialogue between East and West, between design and emotion.
After a short break, the stage welcomed Loredana Prosperi, Ambassador of the Italian Gemological Institute, and Vincenzo Aucella, President of Assocoral. Their joint conference, “Coral Universe: Tradition, Science, and Future” explored the cultural and environmental significance of coral, a material that embodies both ancient tradition and modern sustainability challenges in the jewelry world. In the afternoon, Pia Antonietta Antignani, Deputy Head of the LabiGem Laboratory, captivated the audience with her research presentation “The Libyan Desert Glass: Discovering the Mysterious Gem of Tutankhamun.” Her presentation connected science, archaeology, and gemology, revealing the enduring fascination of natural phenomena that shaped ancient treasures. The day culminated with the talk “Alternative Materials in Contemporary Jewelry: A Transformation of the Expressive Language,” curated and led by Laura Astrologo Porché. This session brought together a collective of artists and designers: Myriam Bottazzi, Chiara Fenicia, Narratrame, Ana Petrova, Anna Paparella, and Tribal Beat, who shared their creative approaches to using unconventional materials in jewelry-making. Their works demonstrated how resin, fabric, recycled elements, and organic substances can redefine the concept of preciousness, turning jewelry into a medium of contemporary expression and sustainability.
The program continued on Sunday, October 26, 2025, with further conferences that deepened the reflection on identity, legacy, and design. Among the most notable were the talks by Antonio Fontana and Marina Valli, who presented a book dedicated to her father, and by the internationally renowned designer Alessio Boschi, whose talk provided an inspiring closure to the series — a celebration of artistic excellence and creative vision that defines the essence of Roma Jewelry Week. With record attendance and unprecedented global participation, Roma Jewelry Week 2025 has once again proven that jewelry is far more than an ornament: it is a cultural artifact, a story told in metal and light, and a bridge between peoples, histories, and emotions.
Future Vision: “Rome District”
During RJW2025, the ambitious initiative “Rome District. The Intangible Heritage and the New Renaissance of Making” was announced. This project envisions a Roman method: a system of knowledge and craftsmanship where ancient techniques combine with new, contemporary narratives.
