In the breathtaking setting of “Piazza del Campidoglio” in Rome, Gianni Molaro unveiled his marvellous Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Noble Vanitè”. Known for his unparalleled bridal couture, Molaro made a grand entry, captivating the audience with his sophisticated designs.
The event was part of the Ensemble Fashion Show, hosted by Eleonora Daniele and promoted by Alessandro Onorato (councillor for fashion, major events, tourism, and sport of Rome) and Roberta Angelilli (vice-president and councillor for economic development, trade, industry, and internationalization of the Lazio Region). Molaro’s presence was a highlight, marking a significant moment for the designer who has long been a fixture in the heart of Rome with his atelier on Via del Babuino.
The show was elevated by the enchanting performance of the great italian singer Patty Pravo, whose iconic songs added a touch of magic to the evening. Molaro’s collection is designed for the sophisticated, confident woman comfortable in the grand rooms of noble palaces and at gala premieres and theatrical openings. Princess Giacinta Ruspoli graced the runway, embodying the elegance and grace of Molaro’s vision.
Inspired by the bold and charismatic Tamara de Lempicka, a Polish painter and icon of 1920s Paris, and the captivating Dalida, a singer who charmed the world with her allure and expressive talent, Molaro’s collection is a tribute to strong, influential women. The audience was enthralled by the exquisite long dresses, in which mikado fabric elegantly draped the silhouette and was adorned with contrasting Chantilly lace.
The collection also featured soft satin dresses in solid colours and black-and-white prints designed by Molaro. Shades of green emerald and cyclamen beautifully complemented the dominant colour palette of whites and blacks.
A recurring motif in the “Noble Vanitè” collection is the pearl, which appears in prints, embroidery, hairstyles, and bracelets. It symbolizes refined beauty far surpassing that of diamonds or emeralds. “My woman represents an emancipated femininity, one who wishes to present herself intriguingly, a woman who is in control of herself,” Molaro explains. The collection emphasizes meticulous attention to detail and accessories, with veils and feathers an essential element of haute couture enhancing the dresses.
Feathers represent the vanity and elegance of the body. Stoles and belts with voluminous designs, organza petals, and flowers create asymmetrical shoulder structures. The pleated stole, worn as a belt, adds volume between the shoulder and the waist, while the surreal slits, necklines, and sheer elements convey a whispered elegance.
Gianni Molaro says: “I come from bridal fashion, and I have worked immensely on subtraction in this collection. My goal remains to dress all body types and women of character”.
The prestigious guest list included: Princess Maria Pia Ruspoli, Prince Guglielmo Giovanelli, Raffaella Paleari, Giorgia Fiori, Carla Cogliandro, Fabiola Morabito, Mita Medici, Massimo Bomba, and Amedeo Brogli. The Hairstylist Sergio Valente masterfully handled the hairstyling for the show, and the talented Simone Belli did the make-up.
Gianni Molaro’s “Noble Vanitè” celebrates timeless elegance and the empowered woman, leaving an indelible mark on the fashion world. As the night drew to a close, we can admire his versatility and vision, with a standing ovation and admiration for his masterpieces.
