GX Fashion Week, headed by President Gentiana Dervishi and the APS Showteam Association staff, once again chose high-calibre designers and models with a unique and rare fashion DNA. The concept of ‘needle and thread’, mixed with new manufacturing technologies, remains a firm leader in the team’s selective options.

“I am delighted with everything, and I want to express this in simple terms so that you can understand the level of satisfaction with my intentions and those of the staff who worked hard, rowing as a team to achieve the success achieved. The garments presented by the designers turned out to be of unique and valuable workmanship. Models, just like the stylists, joined us worldwide, making, as in last September’s edition in which some 25 Miss Universes paraded. The stylists have been proponents of pure art and have cleared the way for taste and professionalism, making their creations rare and valuable,’ emphasises the President. At the same time, a careful focus was placed on the choice of hairstyle and make-up, essential parameters just as essential as the designers’ creations, which completed a highly anticipated event.

On the catwalk were the creations of Iris Di Costantino. The designer fell in love with a historical craft dedicated to attention to detail and quality: she creates handmade bags and unique accessories in fine leather under the brand IDC Bags. She began her journey in a cellar he describes as ‘cold’ while learning this ancient art from an uncompromising Swiss-German craftsman and then created hundreds of different pieces in his atelier. The aim is to juxtapose the uniqueness of creations inspired by the concept of the past by comparing them to the ‘grandmother’s bag’ that lasted a lifetime and to which one became attached, subject to the concepts of design and one-off. For the processing of materials, he chooses and examines each leather individually in the same Tuscan tanneries where the names of fashion that have made history are supplied. It is there that people of great experience and dedication to this specific work have taught her great lessons, giving her confidence in her creations and allowing her to visit the reserved areas, places where exclusivity is stillborn. She firmly believes that each new creation must surpass the previous one, so she takes care of every part of the process: sketch, pattern, design and complete realisation of the finished product. Today, IDC bags make women happy who want to feel fulfilled exclusively and uniquely in Switzerland and abroad. Creations with fine materials and completely handmade workmanship, often on a customised basis, which they like to call ’emotions to wear’.

Renata Kliska founded the brand ‘La Rena‘ in 2012. In no time, her luxury collections, furs and dresses have become the stars of the Slovakian catwalks, gaining admirers in France, Italy, Austria and the United States. She fell in love with the world of fashion in her teens, but as a child, at the age of six, she sewed her first dress for a doll and then went on to make it for herself. Her first fashion show, ‘La Rena’, was four years ago, and the praise was overwhelming. The following year, she was admired at ‘Bratislava Fashion Days’ for the first time. She became the star of Slovakian Fashion Week. Every year she juxtaposes her work with influential local and foreign designers, such as Igor Gulayev or Belinda Chorley, the latter working with the legendary Vivienne Westwood. Renata’s main assets are talent, entrepreneurial skills, and fluency in six languages. Her work has attracted the attention of Slovak, Italian and Austrian diplomats. Year after year, she enjoys success and acclaim at unique and exclusive events in several European countries, including Paris. Still, there have also been major successes in the United States of America. Each fashion item created by the ‘La Rena’ brand is unique. The designer collaborates with professionals of calibre, with whom she achieves exceptional results.

Umberto Michele Perrera is a designer who has dedicated his life to fashion, where he has been established and appreciated worldwide for decades. His sartorial works have met with success and acclaim. He participated in the Sanremo Fashion Festival in 1968. In 1971, he was invited to join the ‘Accademia dei Sartori di Roma’ (Academy of Tailors of Rome), founded in the 18th century. From 1974 onwards, it became a staple for the annual fashion shows at the Teatro Regio in Turin. He has also been making women’s clothes for 50 years. Perrera is specialised in designing, creating and tailoring top-quality clothes for both men and women. In 1970, he came second at the renowned ‘Forbici d’Oro’ (Golden Scissors) competition, winning the ‘Il Centimetro d’Oro’ (The Golden Centimetre) prize. He is a member of the event’s organising association and his valuable advice shows solid quality. He has participated in all ‘GX Fashion Weeks’ in the last five years.

Faiza Anrti Bouzar (Fab Haute Couture) Algerian designer, who comes from a large family of jewellers, has a successful career at the international level. Her creations have graced the catwalks of Paris, Vienna, Beirut, Kuwait City, Canada, the United States and Baku in Azerbaijan. His style is refined, elegant and original but, above all, devoted to the historicity of the craft in which craftsmanship has the highest profile. Today in Milan, to present the 2023 collection called ‘Premier Amour’.

Bianca Prundeanu is a young fashion designer who recently graduated from the Istituto Marangoni in Milan. Fashion has always been the expressive language through which she observes and metabolises the world, art, nature and their evolution. For the designer, fashion also reflects an eye on the contemporary and the roots of humanity and its ways of reacting to events. A varied humanity that, precisely in fashion, can and must express uniqueness, trusting in the diversity that makes us protagonists of human evolution. With each collection, she intends to send a message about the concept of beauty and the right to respect for everything and everyone, turning her attention not only to materials but also to shapes and the care of each step that only ‘slow fashion’ can guarantee. Her Romanian roots are identified in the creative process, which expresses the need to unite and assemble opposites harmoniously, conceptually deconstructing sensibilities and spaces linked to personal traditions, seeking a correct rhythm and congenial forms in cohesion with details and finishes. His collection’s colours and shapes are certainly conditioned by living the everyday and deliberately seeking a point of contact between our often harsh and unforgiving times and the aspiration to ‘beauty’ understood as a set of qualities perceived through our senses and our emotional state.

Margarita Kola is a fine Albanian designer with 30 years of experience. She began her career as a child, coming from a family of tailors, growing up among scissors, needles and thread. At 22, she moved to Greece, where she immediately started working for prominent fashion designers in the production sector, and her work became known and sold worldwide. In the last five years, she has opened her own atelier in Greece under the brand name ‘Atelier Margot di Margherita Kola’, specialising in wedding and evening dresses and continuing to produce for other fellow stylists and designers. She has been living in Italy for a short time, now at her first Milanese experience here at Palazzo Francesco Turati, for which she has produced an entire collection in a concise time.

Delia Iorga, for her fashion, has always been a way of expressing herself since childhood. She still remembers sewing her first dress at 12 while her parents were at work, and her mother’s amazement became iconic. She points out that she mixed the ‘gene’ of love towards tailoring from her mother and creativity towards research, development and innovation from her father. He nurtured the need to follow and grow his passion, so much so that he carefully undertook industry studies, alternating with hundreds of hours of necessary practice. She started her first fashion design business in her home country, Romania, in 2005, where she developed and produced mainly couture wedding dresses and creations for special occasions. In 2008, she moved to Norway, opening an atelier named ‘Ida del Gide’. In Norway, she interacts a lot with casual designs for women, men and children. Lately, she has started a project dedicated to technical activewear, a sector that requires endless research and testing of fabrics.

Ina Gjoka is an Albanian designer living in Switzerland with a great passion for fashion. She was born at an early age and cultivated throughout her growth with her family, who own a tailor’s shop. She initially studied as a model maker in Albania. Then she acquired a great deal of experience, enabling her to crown her greatest dream, graduating as a fashion designer at a prestigious institute in Milan. Over the last few years, she has taken part in various fashion shows, creating majestic collections that have enabled her to establish herself on the fashion scene, so much so that she has received important awards.

The Key Artist responsible for hair make-up at APS Showteam was once again the super-confirmed Ada Guma, who, together with the make-up artists and hairstylists chosen by the organising association, helped to amplify the perfection of the latest trends aesthetically.

Finally, due recognition is due to the staff of professionals who, as committed collaborators behind the scenes, pushed the engine to its limits in order to achieve an announced success. The latter were all directed by Alessia Xhafa, an established coordinator and the ‘right hand’ of President Gentiana Dervishi.

The fashion shows were presented by blogger and communications expert Alessio Marrari, who had already been present at previous editions and immediately created a synergy with the current audience, doing justice to the very high artistic quality of the masterpieces unveiled during the wonderful afternoon.
