“Dandy Days ” – Masters of Elegance

Elegant lovers of detail, impeccable, who would never leave home without looking in the mirror.  These are dandies, gentlemen and influencers of men’s and women’s fashion who, on 2 and 3 October, gathered from all over Italy and beyond for the 5th edition of “Dandy Days – Masters of Elegance in the City Centre”.

The event was born from the expert barber Alessio Ginestrini and his wife, Stefania Severi. The charity purpose is to donate the funds raised to the city institute “Casa Thevenin”, which takes children with family problems and school difficulties and single mothers in difficult situations.

The grandmaster of ceremonies was Stefano Agnoloni, master of style and good manners. Among those present were Niccolò Cesari and Umberto Uliva brand ambassadors, Mr JP aka Jean Pierre Xausa, ambassador of Italian craftsmanship, and Andrea Raffaelli, web influencer and author of “The Italian Gentleman – The Marquis’ Blog”. Once again this year, the event confirmed itself as the “spearhead” of the great autumn appointments, and it did so through a rich programme.

The atrium of the Palazzo della Provincia of Arezzo was the proscenium for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the fifth edition, where artisans and shopkeepers met for an exhibition of unique handmade clothing and accessories. After the Welcome Brunch in the men’s store Viapiana, the Dandies took a walk from the Latin Quarter to Piazza Grande to discover the city’s incredible history, among heraldic coats of arms, personalities and buildings, ending with a visit to the Ivan Bruschi House Museum.

As always, journalist Francesco Maria Rossi led the Dandy (ever) Green meeting “Will the elegance of good living save the world?” on the most topical issues affecting fashion, tailoring, lifestyle, publishing and trade fairs. Three dandy foreign guests from Paris also attended the round table, the journalist Simone Gismondi, the writer Alessandra Volta, the director of ‘Casa Thevenin’, Carlo Donati of the historic tailor’s shop in Arezzo and Luciano Tagliaferri, headmaster of the Liceo Artistico “Piero della Francesca”.

The aperitif hour at the Cloister of the Municipality of Arezzo was punctuated by the fashion show that presented proposals in perfect dandy style. In the evening, the garden of the Casa Thevenin Institute hosted a gala dinner for charity organized by the “Logge Vasari” restaurant.

Accompanied by the soundtrack of the “Euphoria Quartet” and enhanced by the presence of the Italian Sommelier Association (Ais Toscana), the National Association of Grappa and Spirit Tasters (Analogue Toscana) and the “Strade del Vino Terre di Arezzo”.  The star of the evening was the showgirl Valentina Marconi.

After the Tuscan brunch in the Cloisters of the Arezzo Town Hall, the highlight of Sunday was the “MERENDA REALE”, organized by Grazia Frappi, head of communications for the Unione Regionale Cuochi Toscani. Haute patisserie, chocolate and ice cream made by the most famous laboratories in the city, to be enjoyed in style. The Swiss singer Sonia Mazza has entertained the audience with a live show of all respect for the occasion.

The Contemporary Dandy World is made up of precise rules of bon ton – on how to dress, how to appear in public, how to converse, and the choice of topics to talk about—being Fashionable by Applying Etiquette. This event has celebrated style for over 50 years, passion and beauty.

The fifth edition has recorded a significant media echo thanks to many media partners, but especially of the participants who count thousands of followers on their social profiles. Special praise to the impeccable organization and reception. Once again, Arezzo, which makes elegance one of its hallmarks, proved to be the perfect place to host this type of event, especially during the days of the Antiques Fair.
