It’s time for a change, renewal, says Carlo Fontana – General Manager of the historic Hotel Dante Centre in Lugano. has well understood this and, together with his sister Paola, has prepared the family hotel for the leap into the future.
Here is the new Lugano Dante, redesigned by the creative genius of Architect Giovanni Franceschelli. New starting from the name. Breaking with the rules of the classic “hotellerie”, it presents itself as a welcoming open space, where the boundaries between hotel and clientele are blurred by linking the two dimensions. An empathetic, extrovert, vibrant landmark for the social and cultural life of the city. The hotel is attractive for the Lugano residents, occasional patrons and, of course, foreign tourists.
The city enters the heart of Lugano Dante and becomes part of it, right from the lobby where check-in is just a detail. The welcome is given by the eclectic context that surprises: an open house, attentive to guests’ needs, where you can enjoy the pleasure of stopping, meeting, chatting, relaxing, eating and, finally, lying down and dreaming.
Lugano lacked such an environment: a lounge open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A living room that pampers and excites, thanks also to the new catering concept that makes Lugano Dante a unique place in all of Switzerland. Inspired by the world of alchemy, the hotel has created the Flamel, Bar Bistrot and much more. Not simple drinks but sensory experiences based on the “Mixology” of local ingredients. Like true alchemists, the bartenders offer tempting blends at the complete service of the palate and spirit of the person, preparing them daily in the hotel’s LAB cocktail. The result is always magical, thanks to the calibrated mix of fragrances from the Alpine region and the more distinctly oriental ones.
The Bistrot follows the same alchemical philosophy, also in the grammar of the spaces, suitable to make the staff’s work agile and the relationship with customers fluid. Three of the best culinary traditions – Swiss, French and Italian – animate Chef Davide Maci’s interpretations, always based on healthy raw materials and close to the territory, possibly from Ticino or Switzerland.
The elegant, design rooms, automated parking and conference room complete this innovative urban hot-spot with a cosmopolitan flavour. In particular, the meeting & working room dedicated to conferences and special events, becomes a Creative Box, flexible in its uses and spaces, thanks to the large mobile windows that give breath to ideas and brightness to the environment.
Inside, the possibility to taste “homemade” dishes and a winter garden. The skylight reproduces the “sun effect”, according to the circadian rhythm. With its new salon face, Lugano Dante reveals itself as a distillate of emotions and invites everyone to toast the future together.
