Exclusive and extremely stylish, the Richard Mille RM 50-03 McLaren F1 is one of the most luxurious timepieces ever, thanks to its technical F1 sophistication.
From a partnership like that between McLaren and Richard Mille can only come something beautiful. For example, the Richard Mille RM 50-03 McLaren F1, a very exclusive timepiece that pays tribute to the Woking company’s Formula 1 single-seaters.
Weighing in at just 40 grams, the Richard Mille RM 30-03 McLaren F1 features titanium and carbon fibre components as well as graphene (a material six times lighter than steel but 200 times stronger than it): the TPT Carbon case was made using this solution. It consists of 600 layers of parallel filaments (each 30 microns thick) impregnated with a resin which is in turn impregnated with graphene.
The strap is made of rubber (reminiscent of the tires of single-seaters), and is in turn embellished with inserts in graphene to increase its resistance to wear and elasticity, while the movement (7 grams in weight) combines elements in titanium grade 5 and Carbon TPT, the latter material used for the cage to support the movement and inspired by the arms of the suspension of the single-seaters.
To complete the Richard Mille RM 50-03 McLaren F1 (also characterized by a low-friction mechanics) there is an escapement with tourbillon with dual function, as well as a push button panel to recall the shape of the air intakes of Formula 1 cars and a crown with a design similar to that of the wheels of the single-seaters. There are only 75 in the world (all accompanied by a 1:5 scale model of the McLaren-Honda F1 2017) for 1,112,000 euros each.
