First, what is Hublot? Carlo Crocco, who was an Italian, started Hublot in 1980. It is a business of Swiss luxury watches. Owned by France’s LVMH, it operates as a whole, like an owned subsidiary. The Fusion concept was then brought to the world the same year Hublot was started.
Hublot’s History
Carlo left a company the was known for creating Breil watches in 1976 because he wanted to do a business of his own. After leaving, he moved to Switzerland, where he established MDM Geneve, there he was planning to design a watch named Hublot that translates “porthole“ in the French language. In watchmaking history, a natural rubber strap was introduced in the industry by the watch he made. Their company researched how to make a strap for three years. Even when he failed to sell it to at least one person on the first day of its release on a Basel Watch Fair, it proved its success through a commercial earning $2 million in the first year.
The Era of Jean- Claude Biver
When Carlo was worried about his work and activities for a foundation, he started a charity, a charity for children all over the globe who were deprived. There was a lookout for a man that could oversee the company of his. Then in 2003, a person named Jean- Claude Biver met with Carlo. The year after in May, Biver had assumed the duties of CEO, and he became a board member and also a shareholder of Hublot watches. When he became part of Hublot, he thought of a new collection that was revealed in Basel in 2005, the Hublot chronograph “Big Bang.“ Success came after its release and the sale was up three times in just one year.
Hublot Big Bang Unico Black Magic
As we know, the Hublot Big Bang was officially released in the year 2005, the piece became one of Hublot’s iconic watches, and Unico was a newer version of it. The 45 mm case of the watch is made out of micro-blasted ceramic, the traditional style of Hublot, called porthole, is put on the bezel from the side, the magnificent watch is also given water resistance for 100 meters.
Looking inside, there are sapphire crystals. Now the movement for the watch is what we call the blow calibre 1242. It also contains a 72 power reserve that’s very needed in a chronograph watch. As we know, the company is the first to make natural rubber straps for their watches, and this one has a titanium deployment clasp, and they also have a release button, which is quite convenient.
