In a world where events often become fleeting displays of fashion and form, Milano Set Mediterraneo 2025 has dared to be different. Held on April 29th and 30th at the historic Castello Sforzesco and Dazi Milano in Milan, the event was more than a showcase; it was a heartfelt manifesto. Titled “Puglia, the Land of Wonders”, it transported attendees into a world where tradition meets innovation, every handcrafted object tells a story, and a region’s soul is reflected in its art, music, fashion, and cuisine.
A celebration beyond tourism – This event was not just about promoting tourism; it was a celebration of identity, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage. “La Puglia più bella”, the most beautiful Puglia, was not merely a slogan but a guiding vision. The project offered a unique blend of tourism and cultural promotion through an emotional and aesthetic experience. Its aim? To attract visitors and inspire dreamers, future couples seeking a wedding destination, and anyone who appreciates authentic beauty. Set against the iconic Milanese backdrop, the initiative reimagined the red carpet as a path for culture. Here, identity, memory, and skill took centre stage. Artisans, designers, and creatives from across Puglia came together to present not just their works, but a piece of their land, heart, and history.
Puglia: a dream destination for weddings – At the heart of the initiative is a bold ambition: to establish Puglia as a premier destination for Italian and international weddings. The initiative spotlighted the historic towns and timeless villages of Grottaglie, Manduria, Porto Cesareo, and Terlizzi, each steeped in beauty and authenticity. However, the success of such a vision relies on collaboration. Local institutions, businesses, and professionals joined forces to build a network celebrating Puglia’s best. Stylists, ceramicists, wedding planners, makeup artists, florists, winemakers, and luxury hospitality brands all came together in an inspiring fusion of tradition and modernity.
A multi-sensory journey through art and culture – The two-day event unfolded through the senses and across landscapes of meaning. It opened with a press conference that set the tone for an immersive cultural experience. Visitors encountered the powerful sculpture exhibit “Di Terra e di Fuoco” by Giuseppe Spagnulo and the ceremonial donation of “La Pupa”, a handcrafted ceramic figure by Gaetano Fasano Ceramiche, symbolising both heritage and transformation. The magic continued with a whimsical, Alice in Wonderland-inspired installation that lit up the Milanese night. Created by the lighting design studio Dipierro, the installation merged fantasy with southern Italian festivity. Floral artist Alberto Menegardi, using blooms from Terlizzi, curated a dreamlike floral experience. At the same time, Carmela Comes presented her latest sartorial bridal collection on models prepared by the skilled hands of make-up artist Monia Iovino (Mi-Mua) and hairstylist Domenico Floriello of Ostuni. Adding depth and texture were the papier-mâché creations of Deni Bianco and the ceramics of Bottega Vestita, all displayed at the enchanting Dazi Milano venue. The temporary exhibition “Intrecci di Stile” showcased Puglia’s most innovative and traditional design houses, proving that regional craftsmanship can shine on any international stage.
Taste, sound, and emotion – No cultural showcase would be complete without a tribute to gastronomy. Tenuta Pinto curated a culinary experience of the region’s rich flavours and traditions. At the same time, wines from Gianfranco Fino and Masseria Cuturi 1881 offered guests a taste of Puglia’s winemaking excellence. Throughout, the mood was lifted by the DJ sets from Radio Monte Carlo, adding a contemporary beat to a celebration rooted in centuries-old traditions. It was a performance where every element—from the lighting to the floral designs, music to the tailoring, was orchestrated with emotion. The beauty on display wasn’t just for the eyes; it was meant to move the soul.
A network of excellence – The true stars of Milano Set Mediterraneo 2025 were the people: those who create with their hands, think with their hearts, and believe in the transformative power of culture. Among them were designers, visual artists, photographers, stylists, and wedding planners, including the renowned Diana Da Ros and Victoria Kursova, who, together with Puglian planner Grazia Cinieri, led the international public relations and organisational efforts. Prestigious venues such as Masseria Triticum and Villa Cenci, along with luxury accommodations like Monun, Le Maioliche B&B, Casa Vestita, Casale del Murgese, and UnaHotels Regina, provided a glimpse into the hospitality potential of the region. Event partner Zanzar Sistem also played a crucial role in logistics and support. Gabriele Emiliano and Antony Pepe masterfully captured the event’s visual storytelling, whose cinematic lens brought every detail to life. Giovanni Piccinno managed communication, ensuring the event’s message resonated beyond the walls of the castle.
A collective vision realised – Such an ambitious event could only succeed through collaboration. The project owes much to the synergy between the Puglia Region, the Municipality of Milan, the Brindisi-Taranto Chamber of Commerce, and local administrations. Special recognition was given to Aldo Patruno and Gianni Sportelli from the Puglia Department of Tourism and Culture and to Cultural and Legality Assessor Viviana Matrangola for their ongoing support. Damiano Comes, the visionary President of Urban Events, is at the heart of this cultural renaissance. Comes has tirelessly worked to bring this dream to life as an ambassador of Puglia’s artisanal legacy and advocate for genuine Made in Italy craftsmanship.
Looking forward: passerella mediterranea 2025 – The journey doesn’t end here. The next chapter is Passerella Mediterranea 2025, scheduled from October 10th to 12th in Grottaglie, marking the 10th anniversary of the initiative. With this milestone, the movement to elevate Puglia as a cultural and wedding destination gains even more momentum. As the curtain fell on Milano Set Mediterraneo, one thing became clear: Puglia is not just a place. It’s a feeling. It’s the warmth of handcrafted ceramics, the scent of blooming flowers, the harmony of tradition and contemporary design. It’s a land where beauty is sincere, where every corner hides a story waiting to be told. In an era hungry for authenticity, Puglia stands ready to offer a visit, a memory, a dream, a wonder. It is, without a doubt, Italy’s very own Land of Wonders.
