Roma Jewelry Week 2025 at the Corsie Sistine: Jewelry as a Universal Language

Roma Jewelry Week (RJW), conceived and founded by Architect Monica Cecchini, returns to the Corsie Sistine from October 24 to 26, reaffirming its vocation as a cultural platform that bridges goldsmith tradition, artistic research, and contemporary reflection. This year, the partnership with Alessia Crivelli and the Mani Intelligenti Foundation grows ever stronger, fostering meaningful and productive exchange.

The exhibition, articulated in several thematic sections, offers an immersive journey through the city’s history and its international connections.

The international section, curated in collaboration with foreign institutions and academies, brings together works from Thailand, China, Armenia, Korea, Mexico, and Romania, highlighting the dialogic nature of a language that transcends geographical boundaries. Particularly noteworthy are collaborations with the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, Assamblage School (Romania), Hard to Find, Minoss Jewelry Academy, and the Shenzhen Fashion Gala. In particular, this year will see the participation of the Armenian Jewellers Association (AJA) with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.

The Armenian Pavilion at RJW 2025 unites 12 exceptional designers whose creations span centuries of jewelry-making tradition, intertwined with bold contemporary vision. From historically inspired pieces reflecting Armenia’s rich cultural heritage to innovative modern pieces that push the boundaries of jewelry design, each piece embodies mastery, creativity, and individuality. Together, these designs create a vibrant narrative of Armenian identity, celebrating the nation’s craftsmanship and artistic excellence, while asserting Armenia’s unique voice and enduring presence on the global jewelry stage.

The participation of Armenian jewelry designers at the Rome Jewelry Show is a proud moment for all of us. It offers a global stage to showcase their exceptional talent, deep-rooted craftsmanship, and the rich cultural heritage of our motherland. This opportunity reflects the bright horizon ahead for Armenian creativity in the international jewelry arena. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and the dedicated Board of the Armenian Jewellers Association. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Laura Astrologo Porché for her continued encouragement and support of Armenian talent.

With “Aurea Roma. Heritage and Contemporary,” the exhibition focuses on the dialogue between historical heritage and contemporary languages. Today’s master goldsmiths and designers reinterpret Roman classicism through modern materials and techniques, creating a conversation between memory and innovation. The works of Riccardo Alfonsi, Angeletti, Ansuini, Simona Della Bella, Glauco Cambi, Fanuele, Antonio Fontana, Michele Forlenza, Massimo Licciardello, Elena Lo Presti, Paolo Mangano, Cristiana Perali, Luigina Rech, and Le Sibille, among others, portray Rome as a living workshop. In this city, craftsmanship continually evolves without ever losing its identity.

The Heritage section presents masterpieces from the University and Noble College of Goldsmiths, Jewellers and Silversmiths of Rome, of which Aldo Vitali is the Chamberlain, including the celebrated Valadier chalice and creations by historic Roman goldsmiths and jewelry houses. It is a silent yet eloquent dialogue between the formal perfection of the past and the experimental energy of the present.

Also the traveling exhibition PREZIOSA YOUNG 2024-2025, curated by Giò Carbone and Alice Rendon, will be on display at RJW with a selection of works by the three award-winning artists: YeJin Choi, Margo Csipö and Yasmin Zehavi.

At the heart of the program lies the Incinque Jewels Award, a competition devoted to contemporary jewelry and design research. This year, it gathers works from 115 artists worldwide, reaffirming the conceptual and artistic dimension of jewelry as an autonomous art form, a meeting point for creativity, technology, and craftsmanship. Particularly moving is the Jewels for Freedom project, curated by Monica Cecchini in collaboration with Elina Chauvet, the renowned Mexican artist known for her installations against gender violence. The project proposes a symbolic jewel as an instrument of awareness and social engagement, interpreted by international designers such as Alessio Boschi, creator of Nike Liberata, Paolo Mangano, and Anna Pinzari. Here, the exhibition transcends beauty to enter the realm of ethics. At the Corsie Sistine, visitors will also encounter solo exhibitions by Alessio Boschi, Ivan Barbato, François Santo, Arata Fuchi, Percossi Papi, Rossella Ugolini, Ashley Youngsunn Nam, Vu Elle Jewels, and Officine Talenti Preziosi.

For educational institutions, the Chanc(g)e project, conceived by Fabiana Romano, in collaboration with the Liceo Artistico Picasso, will also be showcased. The program is enriched by talks, conferences, and guided tours dedicated to the culture of jewelry-making, featuring scholars, curators, and designers. On October 25, the talk program curated by Laura Astrologo Porché will feature Giampaolo Della Croce, Fei Liu, Loredana Prosperi, Vincenzo Aucella, Pia Antonietta Antignani, and a discussion on alternative materials with participants such as Narratrame, Chiara Fenicia, Myriam Bottazzi, Tribal Beat, Ana Petrova, and Anna Paparella.

Milano Fashion & Jewels, important partner of the event, will feature the talk “Contemporary Jewelry: Opportunities, Culture and Retail – The Point of View of Milano Fashion & Jewels,” with speakers, including Filomena Sannino (Exhibition Manager), Naiche Tolio (Sales Manager), Eleonora Besozzi and Gloria Fici (Accounts of Milano Fashion & Jewels). On October 26, the stage will host Alessio Boschi, Barbara Brocchi, Italian-Thai Chamber of Commerce, Monica Cecchini, Antonio Fontana, Bryna Pomp, Marina Valli, Aldo Vitali, and Sally Xiong Bing.

Supported by both public institutions and private partners, Roma Jewelry Week 2025 confirms the Eternal City as a leading hub of contemporary jewelry, capable of uniting artisanal mastery with an international vision. More than an exhibition of precious objects, it is an exploration of jewelry as cultural expression, a universal language through which art, beauty, and thought converge.
