The Breitling Aviator 8 Mosquito is a timepiece inspired by the in-flight watches. Designed by Breitling’s Huit Aviation Department over the years ʽ30 and ʽ40, as well as the 765 AVI, also known as the Co-Pilot, pays tribute to the de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito, a bomber built almost entirely of wood and which earned its reputation during World War II.

The Breitling Aviator 8 Mosquito proudly displays its unique design: it immediately recalls the design of the on-board instruments designed by the Huit Aviation Department of Breitling and the reference 765 AVI, the Co-Pilot, which with its bold look has become a favourite watch of aviators.

The Breitling Aviator 8 Mosquito features a 43 mm stainless steel case and a satin-finished ADLC-coated steel bezel with a red pointer, as well as indexes and Arabic numerals. The black dial features contrasting silver counters and an indication of Breitling Caliber 01, the mechanical movement that drives the watch. This model is characterized by an ADLC treatment that gives an even darker tone than the traditional DLC coating, recalling the adaptation to night-time activity of de Havilland Mosquito.

The orange hour, minute and center seconds hands are coated with Super-Lumi Nova, which makes the watch readable in low light. The red and orange accents evoke the rosettes and fuselage insignia of the de Havilland Mosquito fuselage, while the small seconds counter hand has a black lacquered finish. The dial also features a windowed calendar positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock.
