Cybernetic by Gianluca Saitto is a collection inspired by the study of fabrics. Technical fabrics are worked using special processes that make them delicate and soft to the touch like natural fabrics: PVC, nylon and microfibre are turned into accessories such as gloves and belts, inserts on dresses and ultra-light jackets, coated fabrics create three-dimensional designs on tops and evening dresses.
Fluidity is the real protagonist of the SS 2019 collection from the favourite Italian designer of singers of the calibre of Patty Pravo, Loredana Berté and Renato Zero. The depth of the water and of the night is reflected in various shades of blue, an intensity in which to immerse oneself and from which to let oneself be transported: so for example the long-tailed jacket moves against the air with the motion of walking, whereas the sequinned dress jacket changes its shades from every angle, reminiscent of moonlight falling onto a body of water.
Water and earth complement each other and the colour palette goes from blue and black to sand and gold. A wide dress like a kaftan signals the trait d’union between the two souls of the collection with a maxi floral print in blue and gold: a volume that can be left in its entirety or cinched in with the belt, different ideas for different moments of the day. Amongst the most original prints stand out the nocturnal urban landscape, used for the outerwear, and the more cybernetic one in shades of light green and black with the Matrix cascade effect, used for the trousers and the sleeveless jacket that resemble safari wear.
The trousers are wide-legged and high-waisted; side slits create sinuosity and fluidity in the black silk and sand fabric versions. Silk Georgette offers wide skirts and shirts with puffed sleeves closed by elongated cuffs, with double fastenings both on the elbow and on the wrist for a renaissance look. For the evening, transparencies, embroidery and tulle give life to volumes and symmetries, in blue, metallic black and gold. An earthly fluidity that mixes with the futuristic fluidity of technology.
