Fifty years after the appearance of a DBS in a 007 film, the Gaydon-based company launches the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera James Bond Special Edition, a limited edition of the British supercar and a prelude to Bond 25.
On the occasion of the next release in the halls of Bond 25 (whose work has just begun), the House of Gaydon pays tribute to the most famous secret agent in the world with the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera James Bond Special Edition, special edition of the British supercar which in turn pays tribute to the first appearance of a DBS in a film of 007 exactly 50 years ago alongside George Lazenby in: “Diamonds are Forever” from 1969.
50 UNITS THAT PAY HOMAGE TO THE FIRST DBS OF BOND
Only 50 specimens (one for each year from the film mentioned above) and all characterized by an external coloring in Olive Green in order to pay tribute to the DBS of 1969. The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera James Bond Special Edition also adds specific carbon fibre inserts, dedicated forged rims and a series of distinctive badges, while the interior features black leather and grey Alcantara upholstery, as well as a series of red accents and dedicated details.
And since the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera James Bond Special Edition celebrates its 007th anniversary, there are also special gadgets, including a dedicated (optional) beverage case that fits into the car’s luggage compartment. Ideal for preparing anywhere where a Vodka-Martini shaken, not stirred.
HEART V12 FROM 725 HP
There’s nothing new under the bonnet: the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera James Bond Special Edition finds its beating heart in a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 capable of developing 725 hp and 900 Nm of torque (the latter available between 1,800 and 5,000 lb).000 rpm).
These values are transferred to the rear wheels by means of an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox (flanked in operation by torque vectoring and mechanical differential with limited slip) and that result in a 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 340 km/h.
The price? We are talking about 307,007 pounds sterling (about 348,667 euros at today’s exchange rate). It will be on the market by the end of the year.
