About the Great Artist: Daniele Dondé was born in 1950 and grew up in a wealthy family of collectors of paintings in the Italian town of Cremona. A romantic and a bohemian by nature, after the death of his parents he quickly managed to become bankrupt and was forced to sell the rich collection of paintings, which he inherited. To his surprise, they all turned out to be fakes, (50% of the works were in fact fakes) sold tо his parents as originals. Donde then made his greatest discovery that he could sell fakes as fakes.

He began to create copies of old paintings; the market took them all and soon he opened a school for copyists in Cremona Italy. In 1984, he patented a certificate for fakes, which practically legalized them as works of art. Thus, he put an end to deceiving fakes and created a new trend in world art, known as “Fake Art” (Faux Art) or “The Art of Reproduction.” The artist called it “copyright forgery”; spread his ideas and way of thinking and they were quickly accepted everywhere in the world and became a global movement. He became the undisputed leader of the idea that until that moment had been considered crazy and unachievable. Working constantly and with determination, he took his idea around the world. Temporary art exhibitions of “legal fakes”, in major cities were organized: Milan, Rome, Geneva, Zurich, Munich, Madrid, Istanbul, Paris, London, New York, Moscow, Sydney, Tokyo, St Moritz, Gstaad, Monte Carlo.  Works by Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, Degas, Modigliani, Sisley, Lautrec, Pissarro was showed. Dondé’s motto was: “give everyone a masterpiece”. Dondé, appreciated by international famous VIP like Frank Sinatra, Roger Moore, Sofia Loren, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sultan of Brunei, Prince Albert of Monaco, Mohamed Al-Fayed, Flavio Briatore.
