ALPS is the brainchild of two friends and fellow pilots who, after a decades-long career in the field of air transport by helicopter, have decided to create their own business for tourism and local business.
Our background is 36 years of flying in all areas of civil helicopter use: extinguishing forest fires, transportinggoods in the mountains, transporting corporate and private passengers, mountain rescue and ambulance-helium (service 118).
The thousands of hours of flight carried out during the activity of helicopter rescue in the area of Lake Como and Valtellina in the last twenty years, have given us the opportunity to enjoy its magnificent landscapes from an absolutely privileged point of view, hence the desire to share it with the many tourists who come from all over the world or with those who, perhaps ahead of time, is no longer able to make excursions in the mountains.
In addition, we want to offer tourists a tool to efficiently manage their time available in Italy. A vehicle that allows him to use his home on Lake Como or Lugano as a base for day trips to Northern Italy and the French Riviera, or for unforgettable experiences “all inclusive” such as, for example, a day at the spa of Bormio, or a lunch in a starred restaurant or, again, a visit to Ferrari with a test track of a super car. In this way the guest is encouraged to stay longer on our beautiful lakes. We offer the possibility of arriving from the previous stage – or reaching the next – of their tour, quickly and comfortably.
We provide companies with a tool for optimizing the travel times of their managers. The radius of about 350 km is the one that most enhances the competitiveness of the rotary wing vehicle compared to the fixed wing, or terrestrial wing. To get an idea, in about 40 minutes from our base on Lake Como, we reach Parma, Verona or Turin; in about 50′ Courmayeur, Genoa, Portofino; in just over an hour Venice, Montecarlo, Florence. Attention to flight safety is our priority. We fly with twin-engine helicopters, certified for instrument and night flight; this means double and redundant systems in case of failure; in practice the same characteristics of the airliners. The crew consists of two pilots with solid experience, derived from thousands of hours, subject to recurrent training checks.
Aircraft comfort is guaranteed by air conditioning, soundproofing and leather seats. Our operational base is in Bene Lario, near Lake Como, but at the same time reachable in a few tens of minutes from the center of Lugano.
