Real Beauty lives in harmony

Beauty

Virgil wrote, “virtue is even more pleasing if it shines in a beautiful body“. International research shows that a high percentage of women and an increasing number of men believe that, to be more successful in the professional and individual field, a person must be physically pleasing.

An important online beauty survey, conducted in four countries such as France, Germany, United Kingdom and Italy, has documented how, in the face of increasing information on aesthetic medicine treatments, there are still many uncertainties about the use of certain products and the practice of specific methods, that can ensure natural and lasting results in a minimally invasive way and without having to resort to the surgeon.

Increasing is the demand for treatments and products tested and safe that avoid the intervention of the scalpel, little painful, fast in practice is in the functional recovery that allows the correction of small blemishes conditioning the life of relationship, affective and social.

Aesthetic medicine with the work of qualified personnel and the use of increasingly safe, biocompatible, absorbable products and equipment with tested and effective methods partly responds to this type of need guaranteeing visible results for both the patient and the doctor.

There has been an evident change in the concept of aesthetics, which has long abandoned the stereotype of “beautiful but futile” and increasingly respects the naturalness and individuality of the person, avoiding homologation, exalting the individual characteristics and potential of each person instead, in the indispensable respect of the concept of Harmony.

Often the emotional drive, the need that leads the patient to seek the advice of an expert doctor is an altered parameter of aesthetic evaluation. In the continuous search for a presumed perfection proposed by collective models imposed on all of us by the mass media. In these cases, the question often hides a deep discomfort and very different problems, which the professional must be able to recognize, face and solve first.

The physician must carefully examine, evaluate every real possibility to treat the imperfection or the pathology that causes it through clinical objectivity and correct diagnosis, and must immediately clarify in detail and exhaustively which intervention strategies and products are to be used, acquire informed consent and discuss them with the person.

It is important to try to satisfy as much as possible the requests made. Still, it is equally essential and deontologically correct, in my opinion, to be able to say NO when the application does not allow to respect the mother rule of every doctor “first do no harm“. So yes to the aesthetic treatment if done according to “science and conscience” and not only to chase a smooth and profitable market.

The exponential increase in the number of people who use beauty professionals every day, fully reflects the historical moment in which we are living, an era in which to be physically fit and pleasant looking has become essential to have a better life in both affective/personal and work/professional.

Ageing well, minimizing what are the inevitable signs of ageing, as well as eating correctly, practising regular physical activity, adopting healthier lifestyles have become the fundamental pillars to promote effective preventive action on the state of psycho-physical health.
