The Swiss Watch Company Zenith celebrates the Movie “Lupin III – The First” creating Jigen’s wristwatch: The Zenith A348.
The Swiss watch brand celebrates the release of the film “Lupin III – The First” by giving birth to the Zenith A348, a chronograph that we can see on the wrist of Daisuke Jigen (known as the “right arm” of Lupin III) since its debut in the manga world.
Technical Specification
Equipped with a 37 mm stainless steel case, the Zenith A348 has been recreated original prints and production plans using a reverse engineering process. All this allow the Swiss company to create a watch identical to the one wear by Jigen in the Cartoon series thanks to the creativity of the Genius Monkey Punch (the artistic pseudonym used by the author of Lupin III Kazuhiko Kato).
The Zenith A 348 has also designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the El Primero calibre (a well-known high-frequency automatic chronograph movement that the Swiss company has been using since 1969). This exclusive watch dedicated to Jigen (the A348 was the first model to introduce this calibre) has an opaque dial with anthracite counters and features a tachymeter scale, gold-coloured hands and hour markers.

The sapphire crystal also adds a gem reserved for enthusiasts: Jigen’s silhouette. The chronographs are grey, in contrast, while the outer box has a mosaic of images of the anime. The inside of the box is decorated with Jigen’s silhouette and a stylized Lupin III logo designed by Zenith. Do you want it? You’ll have to be very quick and willing to move! It will be produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces, available only on the Japanese market.
