Rolls-Royce Phantom Tempus: The Space Travel

The British brand has unveiled the Rolls-Royce Phantom Tempus, a 20-unit limited edition of the U.K.-made flagship that pays tribute to space and time.

The quintessential British luxury carmaker has dropped the veil on the Rolls-Royce Phantom Tempus, a special edition of the British flagship that will produce in a limited run of 20 units, all of which have obviously already been sold and “inspired by time, astronomical phenomena and the infinite boundaries of the Universe“.

Deep as the Cosmo – Featuring a Kairos blue exterior colour (designed to replicate space’s darkness and mysteriousness), made using a very special crystallisation process. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Tempus will feature a Spirit of Ecstasy personalised for each customer (by engraving a place and date).

But, as usual for the British manufacturer, it is inside that this car is at its best: a series of fibre optic illuminations literally stud the cabin (including the doors) to bring to mind a pulsar. An aluminium dashboard with bespoke slats milled from a single piece (with 100 individual columns, paying tribute to the 100 million years of rotation that a pulsar endures before extinguishing itself) completes the car’s characterisation.

Also customisable by customers is the V12-shaped (and costing £37,000) champagne cooler, here called the Tempus Champagne Chest and with a hand-painted pulsar on the lid comes complete with crystal glasses and caviar containers.

V12 engine – The heart and soul of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Tempus remains the 6.75-litre V12 capable of 543 bhp and 900 Nm of torque, which allows the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.
