Pagani Huayra R: Pure Italian Emotion in 850HP

The atelier in San Cesario Sul Panaro has given birth to the Pagani Huayra R, the most extreme car ever made by the Italian manufacturer, and that will be produced in only 30 units. Beautiful, as any car by the Modenese manufacturer, can be.

As well as brilliant. But also incredibly sporty. Pagani Huayra R is all this and even more. It is an extreme car, without compromises. But at the same time a work of motoring art. And a collector’s item that all enthusiasts will cover, just like the hypercar it takes over from the Zonda R.

ASPIRATED V12 ENGINE Extreme aerodynamics characterise its shape. But at the heart of this project is its beating heart, which, in defiance of any electrification, supercharging, or whatever, brings back natural aspiration. The AMG-origin 6.0-litre V12 develops 850 bhp (at 8,250 rpm) and 750 Nm of torque (between 5,500 and 8,300 rpm), thanks in part to a 200 bar direct injection system. This fantastic unit is flanked in operation by a six-speed sequential gearbox and weighs just 80 kg.

A specially designed Inconel exhaust system gives voice to this unit and uses a ceramic coating to reduce energy dissipation. Carbo-Titanium HP62-G2 and Carbo-Triax HP62 are the materials that reign supreme in the monocoque, which completely incorporates the seats, while the front frame is made of chrome-molybdenum aluminium alloy. All these solutions have allowed the Pagani Huayra R to be kept within 1,050 kg of weight.

The car meets the FIA’s stringent safety requirements for GT cars, while the aerodynamic work has generated 1,000 kilograms of downforce at a speed of 320 km/h. The suspension was specifically designed for this car and uses forged aluminium for independent wishbone solutions with coil springs and electronic control (the dampers are therefore active).

SOLO 30 – The 19″ wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres, and behind them, you can see the self-ventilated Brembo carbon-ceramic braking system. Onboard are ABS intervention level selectors, radio communication, a quick-release steering wheel (with paddles behind it) and the brake distribution system (the latter, along with other controls, located on the central tunnel). At the same time, a high-resolution display keeps the driver informed of all the necessary data.

In addition, the pedal set is adjustable and was developed in collaboration with AP Racing. And if you’re thinking about it, you should know that the Pagani Huayra R will be made in just 30 units, with a price list that opens at €2.6 million (plus taxes) per unit.
